<p>PURPOSE: An air breather for a transmission of a vehicle is provided to prevent oil from the transmission from leaking out by separating air from oil efficiently and completely with the air breather. CONSTITUTION: An air breather is composed of a breather body(12) combined with the transmission, and a cap(14) combined with the upper part of the breather body. A first space part(18) and a second space part(20) are formed in the upper part of the breather body, and communicated by an air passage(16). A first piston(28) is combined with the first space part to open and close the air passage with sliding according to internal pressure of the transmission, and a second piston is combined with the second space part with sliding according to air from the air passage. Oil leak is prevented by separating air from oil efficiently with returning oil from the air passage through oil return holes to the first space part. Separated air is discharged through fine holes of the cap, and oil is collected to the oil return holes during traveling. A lid is opened by restoring force of the spring with lowering internal pressure in the transmission at a stop of a vehicle, and oil from the oil return holes is returned through the first space part to the transmission.</p> |
