摘要 PURPOSE: To further reduce the power consumption in the low-speed operation of a microcontroller. CONSTITUTION: This integrated circuit has an internal power source voltage generation circuit(12) for reducing external power source voltage EVcc to generate internal power source voltage IVcc. This circuit further has an internal circuit(14) operated by the supply of the internal power source voltage. The internal power source voltage generation circuit changes the level of the internal power source voltage to be generated according to the operation speed of the internal circuit. This circuit further has a clock control circuit(22) for generating an internal clock having a frequency controlled according to the operating speed of the internal circuit, in which the frequency of the internal clock is controlled higher than the internal power source voltage when it is controlled higher, and the frequency of the internal clock is controlled lower than the internal power source voltage when it is controlled lower. According to this, the inoperable state of the internal circuit can be avoided, and the power consumption in the low-speed operation can be further reduced.
