摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a monochromatic image by converting image data into dot data at a high speed. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus receives image data expressed by a combination of the gradation values of each color configuring a first color system and converts the image data into data expressed by the presence/absence of dot formation with respect to a plurality of kinds of dots with different sizes by each of a plurality of colors including at least each color configuring a second color system. On conversion, the image processing apparatus stores in advance a formation density table storing the formation density as to various dots by each gradation value of luminance. When receiving the image data, the image processing apparatus extracts information with respect to the luminance from the image data, converts the image data into another set of data with the formation density of the various dots by referencing the formation density table, and converts the obtained data into dot data expressed by the presence/absence of formation of the various dots. Since the image processing apparatus can quickly convert image data into dot data, the image processing apparatus can quickly print out a monochromatic image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
