<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proliferation inhibitor of lung cancer cells, inhibiting the proliferation of the cancer cells by using a carotenoid derived from a natural product. <P>SOLUTION: The proliferation inhibitor of the cancer cells comprises capsorbin or a fatty acid ester thereof, or a cayenne pepper extract containing these components as active ingredients because the capsorbin which is one kind of the carotenoid contained in the cayenne pepper, or the fatty acid ester thereof is recognized to have activities for inhibiting the proliferation of the lung cancer cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
