PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat hot water to the set temperature accurately just at the scheduled time set by the user when the operation of a heating device is interrupted according to the hot water temperature managing schedule predetermined. SOLUTION: According to the optimal heating control method, hot water is stored in a tank, and at normal times, the hot water is put under a warm keeping control by the heating device 17 to a constant temperature, and heating is made so that the hot water gets the set temperature at the set scheduled time when the operation of the heating device 17 is interrupted according to the hot water temperature managing schedule predetermined, wherein a meteorological observing apparatus is installed together with a hot water thermometer, and the total loss caloric value of the hot water is determined by presuming the future meteorological conditions on the basis of the meteorological data measured by the observing apparatus while the heating device 17 is in pause, and from the obtained total loss caloric value, the operation start timing of the heating device 17 is decided.
