<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a polyester film for molding processing of metal panel laminations, which is obtained from TA (terminal adaptors) collected from a waste of polyesters and is excellent in heat stability, moldability and aroma holding characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The polyester film for molding of metal panel laminations comprises a polyester having ethylene terephthalate repeating units as a major component, which is obtained in the presence of a germanium catalyst by a polycondensation reaction of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid containing less than 1,000 ppm of monomethyl terephthalate and less than 1 ppm of the total amount of 4-carboxybenzaldehyde, paratoluic acid, benzoic acid and dimethyl hydroxy terephthalate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
