PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of changing imaging sensitivity under predetermined conditions. SOLUTION: An arithmetic circuit 101 sets the camera in an imaging sensitivity automatic changing mode in response to an operation signal from a custom setting operation member 119. The circuit 101 performs a program autoexposure calculation by using an object brightness Bv and an imaging sensitivity SVs to determine a control aperture value AVc and a control shutter speed TVc. The circuit 101 further calculates a control exposure sensitivity SVc on the basis of exposure deviation when appropriate exposure cannot be obtained, and changes the set imaging sensitivity. If a built-in or external flsh unit 11 is used, the circuit 101 performs autoexposure calculation by using a flash unit synchronization speed TVc, the object brightness BV and the set imaging sensitivity SVs, and determines a control aperture value AVc.
