A method for determining the areas and volumes of structures from an image. A digital image is acquired (410), enhanced (418), and parallel processed by intensity-based segmentation (422) and edge-based segmentation (438) methods . After segmentation by both processes, the images are combined by an AND Operator (442), and polished (464). The segmented image is then outputted (480) and the Area or Volume of the structure is computed (484). |
