PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk player having a manual search function good in operability. SOLUTION: When manual search is performed from information TNO (n + 1) recorded on the outer circumferential side of an information recording and reproducing medium to information TNO (n) recorded on the inner circumferential side, searching between a front edge position Pb and the termination position Pc of the information TNO (n) is skipped not to thereby search for a part (silence) between pieces when search is performed up to the front edge position Pb of the information of the outer circumferential side if there is the part (silence) between the pieces between the information on the outer circumferential side and the information on the inner circumferential side. Thus, the part (silence) between the pieces unneeded by a user is not searched for, but only needed information is continuously searched for to provide the user with excellent operability, etc., when the manual search is performed.
