PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the starting property and horsepower when an engine speed is in a range of a low engine speed and a normal engine speed in an internal combustion engine, and to prevent an over-speed of the engine when the speed exceeds the normal engine speed. SOLUTION: This ignition device includes a charge and discharge system capacitor 10 for ignition for charging inducing voltage of a power generating coil 1, a first switching element 12 for being triggered for conduction when the inducing voltage of the coil 1 reaches a predetermined trigger level and supplying the charging voltage to an ignition coil 11, and a capacitor 21 for trigger control for charging inducing voltage of the coil 1 and a trigger coil 2, and prohibits, by a second switching element 26, the element 12 from being triggered by the inducing voltage of the coil 1 for a predetermined period of time during discharge after charging of the capacitor 21.
