PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a new polyimide film of above 125μm thickness which holdes mechanical strengths, has excellent blanking nature, and requires no laminating process when using as a stiffener. SOLUTION: The new polyimide film is produced by forming a polyamic acid polymer solution in a film shape, fixing the film of the polymer to a support frame and gradually rising its temperature, heating it at the highest calcining temperature of 200-450°C for≥5 min, and obtaining the polyimide film having the thickness of≥125μm and tear transmission resistance of≥0.3 g/μm. The polyimide film is excellent in the mechanical strengths and the blanking nature, and one film can suitably be used as the stiffener, thereby enabling to omit the laminating process.
