METHOD FOR IMPROVING DELIGNIFICATION AND BLEACHING EFFICIENCY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology which raises the efficiency of a reaction stage to delignify and to bleach pulp having 4-9 Kappa number under alkali conditions and reduces load of the subsequent bleaching reaction stages in a chemical pulp multistage bleaching process. SOLUTION: In the reaction stage to delignify and to bleach pulp having 4-9 Kappa number under alkali conditions in the chemical pulp multistage bleaching process, sodium hydroxide and a specific pH buffer are added to the pulp and the pulp is adjusted to pH 10.0-12.0 at the end of the reaction.
