The device (1) contains support struts (2) which can be inserted into bores (21) extending through the cross-direction support mounted on the drive shaft, these bores extending parallel to the drive shaft. The struts can be moved in an axial direction relative to the cross-direction support once inserted into the bores. A support plate (5) lies axially opposed to the drive shaft and constant velocity joint, and it can be joined to a cross-direction support via support struts extending substantially parallel to the drive shaft. A tensile device axially supported against the outside of the plate can be engaged with threading on the outer axial end of a drive journal in the joint.
