Method for plausibility testing of drive rotational velocity signals has the following steps: formation of the difference (29) in rotational velocity from sequential signal measurement values; checking of the absolute difference against a threshold value; when the threshold is exceeded determination of the sign of the difference; counting of the number (NC) of difference sign changes; and if the number exceeds a threshold within a given time period an implausible signal valve for the first or second signal value is output.
