<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an austenitic stainless steel having superior steam oxidation resistance even when the steel has a thin thickness, as well as superior workability and weldability. <P>SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel superior in steam oxidation resistance comprises, by mass%, 0.08% or less C, 2.0% or less Mn, 7.0-18.0% Ni, 15.0-24.0% Cr, 0.5% or less N, 0.2-4.0% Si, and/or 0.2-3.0% Al, as needed, further 0.005-0.1% one or more of REM and Ca, 0.01-1.0% at least one or more of Nb, Ti and V, 0.2-3.0% Mo and 0.2-4.0% Cu, and the balance substantially Fe, wherein the contents of Cr, Si, Al, REM and Ca, are adjusted with respect to the sheet thickness t (the unit: mm) so as to satisfy the formula. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
