<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the precision of rotation and precision of rotation control of a photoreceptor drum are improved and an electrostatic latent image is written onto the surface of the photoreceptor drum at a same pitch. <P>SOLUTION: Retarder mechanisms of the image forming apparatus (gears 25b and 22b, etc.) are constituted by the gear for photoreceptor drum rotation (22b) rotating the photoreceptor drum (1) or a pulley with gears for photoreceptor drum rotation (33b of drawing 4). A position detection means for position detection of the gears for the rotation of the photoreceptor drum, the pulley with gears for photoreceptor drum rotation and the rotating direction of the photoreceptor drum is constituted from a member to be detected on the side to be detected (position detecting member 22a) and a position sensor member on the detecting side (position detecting sensor 23). The member to be detected is constituted to be attached integrally to an end part on one side which is orthogonal to an exposed surface in the photoreceptor drum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
