PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively inexpensive maintenance work device for an elevator which a plurality of operators can safely perform the maintenance work dispersed into a plurality of places. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with connection terminals T1 to T5 which are provided at least one on a hoistway 2, a cage 3 and a machine room 4 respectively, a communication line TL laid among the connection terminals T1 to T 5, and a portable communication body IF detachably connected to the connection terminals T1 to T5. When a plurality of operators perform maintenance work separately at a plurality of places, respective portable communication bodies IF are mounted to the connection terminals T1 to T5 arranged at the plurality of places, and the operators perform maintenance work communicating each other through the communication bodies IF.
