PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element sufficiently subjected to antistatic treatment, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The antistatic organic EL element has at least a thin film transistor, an organic light emitting layer, and an electrode on a substrate, and an antistatic film is formed at least on a second principal plane which is a backside of a thin film transistor substrate of the substrate.
