<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a characteristic compensation device of a fuel pressure sensor for compensating a detection characteristic of the fuel pressure sensor from an initial stage for an aged deterioration with higher precision. <P>SOLUTION: The characteristic compensating device of the fuel pressure sensor for detecting the fuel pressure supplied into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine is provided with a high pressure fuel pump for sucking a low pressure fuel pumped away from a fuel tank and discharging a high pressure fuel, a high pressure pipe for accumulating the high pressure fuel, a fuel pressure control valve for controlling the fuel pressure of the pressure fuel to a predetermined value, a fuel injection valve for directly injecting the high pressure fuel controlled with a fuel pressure control valve into the combustion chamber, a pressure releasing means for balancing the pipe internal pressure of the high pressure fuel pipe at the already known gas pressure, and a controller for calculating a correction value of a detected value by the fuel pressure sensor based on a pressure difference between the pipe internal pressure and the gas pressure. The controller opens the pressure releasing means, and calculates the correction value by making the gas pressure as a reference value when the pipe internal pressure balances with the gas pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
