PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of print quality due to lowering in the shooting accuracy of an ink drop and occurrence of various troubles due to floating ink mist by suppressing disturbance of air caused by reciprocation of a carriage. SOLUTION: A substantially box type carriage 1 is provided, at a lower part thereof, with an inkjet recording head 9 and performs printing by ejecting ink drops from the inkjet recording head 9 while reciprocating in the main scanning direction. When the carriage 1 reciprocates in the main scanning direction, air blows against the side wall 1a of the carriage 1 or the side face of the inkjet recording head 9 to produce a turbulence having an adverse effect on the shooting accuracy of the ink drop. An air resistance reducing part 20 reduces air resistance when the carriage 9 reciprocates in the main scanning direction and suppresses turbulence thus preventing lowering in the shooting accuracy of the ink drop.
