PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the quality of projected images from being degraded in a display device cooled by outdoor cooling air. SOLUTION: An optical unit 7 which forms the optical image corresponding to image information by chemically processing the light for illumination from a lamp light source 8 is housed into an optical unit cabinet 7a of a hermetic structure and an upper casing 1 which houses a reflection mirror 3 forming a projection space for macroprojecting the optical image formed by the optical unit 7 from a projection lens 6 and a screen 4 is formed of a hermetic structure, by which the structure to prevent dust-laden cooling air used for cooling an optical engine 5 by a cooling fan from flowing into the cabinet 7a and the upper casing 1. Further, the cabinet 7a is provided with a heat sink for heat exchanging and cools the respective optical components of the optical unit 7. The cooling air after cooling is passed through the interior of a lower casing 2 by an exhaust duct for silencing including a bent structure and is discharged from the top surface of the upper casing 1 through an upper exhaust duct formed in the recessed part of an outer wall surface of the upper casing 1.
