PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt-spun hollow fiber membrane, which has excellent air or water permeation properties and, at the same time, can satisfy predetermined compressive strength and tensile strength by improving a spinneret for spinning a hollow fiber membrane, and to provide an air release cartridge using the same. SOLUTION: A plurality of reinforcing rib parts 3 are provided in a partition wall form at equal angles radially from a boss shaft part 5 in a tubular central shaft part. A long empty space part 4 permeable to air or water is provided between the adjacent reinforcing space parts 3. According to this construction, in order to enhance the permeability to air or water, the membrane thickness can be reduced to the maximum. The shortage of the compressive strength and tensile strength due to the reduction in membrane thickness is reinforced with the reinforcing rib parts 3 internally provided at equal angles. The melt-spun hollow fiber membrane is highly permeable to air. Therefore, the modulated melt-spun hollow fiber membrane can effectively be used as an air release membrane cartridge.
