PURPOSE: To provide a one-way clutch capable of eliminating weakening of the spring force of a spring tab part even if the overlapping margin of a retainer and an outer ring becomes large, securing the synchronization of the outer ring with the retainer by maintaining a proper spring force, and being embodied at low cost. CONSTITUTION: The one-way clutch is structured so that springs 4 are arranged alongside the inside surface of the retainer 3, a sprag 5 is fitted in the retainer 3 and the pocket 4p of each spring 4, and that the retainer 3 is fitted by pressure in the inside surface of the outer ring, wherein a wave 4w is formed in the ring part 4a of each spring 4, and the spring 4 portion in the position of the pressure fitting part of the retainer 3 where the reaction force of the retainer maximizes is given a greater stiffness by overlapping one end 4c on the other end 4d partially. Locating the overlapping part 6 is established by the wave 4w provided in the ring part 4a of the spring 4 and the edge 4f of the other end 4d.
