PURPOSE: A session setup method in an MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) network is provided to save resources and achieve session setup within a rapid time by maintaining a TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) connection, without releasing it, in case that a parameter is not matched in session setup between two LSRs(Label Switching Routers). CONSTITUTION: An active LSR executes a TCP connection with a passive LSR. The SCB(Session Control Block) of the active LSR collects parameters and transmits an initialization message to the passive LSR. The passive LSR analyzes the parameter contained in the transmitted initialization message and judges whether the parameters of the two LSRs are matched. In case that the parameters are not matched, the passive LSR transmits an NAK message to the active LSR and disconnects the TCP connection. Then the passive LSR transmits a BACKTOINIT message to request the active message to retransmit an initialization message, and transits the SCB to the initialization state. The SCB of the active LSR, receiving the NAK message, disconnects the TCP connection and drives a backoff timer.
