PURPOSE: A transflective liquid crystal display and a method of fabricating the liquid crystal display are provided to improve reflection efficiency and color characteristic of the transflective liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A transflective liquid crystal display includes the first and second substrates(100,200) facing each other, a liquid crystal layer(300) formed between the first and second substrates, a color filter layer formed on the first substrate in a uniform thickness, and a pixel electrode formed on the second substrate and composed of a thin film transistor(t), a reflection part(R) and a transmission part(T). The liquid crystal display further includes a passivation layer(212) located between the second substrate and pixel electrode, and a color filter(230a) formed at the transmission part. A portion of the passivation layer that corresponds to the transmission part is etched to a predetermined depth. |
