HALF ETCHED BRIDGE OF TENSION MASK

PURPOSE: A half etched bridge of a tension mask is provided to achieve improved uniformity of brightness by increasing the permeation of electron beam and brightness at the peripheral area of the screen. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an inner surface deposited with a phosphor screen; a funnel attached to the panel so as to maintain a vacuum state; a tension mask having a plurality of electron beam passing holes(12); a tension mask support for supporting the tension mask in such a manner that the tension mask is spaced apart from the panel; and an electron gun accommodated into a neck portion of the funnel so as to emit electron beams. A half etched peripheral portion is formed around the electron beam passing holes of the tension mask, and a half etched bridge(16) is formed between the adjacent electron beam passing holes.
