PURPOSE: A cylinder block for a compressor is provided to facilitate manufacture and mass production, cut down the manufacturing cost, lighten manufactures, improve durability and wear resistance, and enhance the performance of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder block(1) for a compressor is installed inside a casing of the compressor and is interconnected with a driving unit, a compression unit, and a cylinder head(150). The cylinder block comprises a block body(10) of an engineering plastic material having a driving axial hole(12) to which a driving shaft of the driving unit is combined, and a compression chamber(14) to which a piston(133) of the compression unit is combined; a metal bearing(20) inserted into the inner peripheral surface of the driving axial hole; and a piston guide(30) of a metal material inserted into the inner peripheral surface of the compression chamber.
