PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a semiconductor device equipped with macros and fuses in size. SOLUTION: The macros 31 to 34 are each composed of normal blocks 31-1 to 31-10 and a redundant block 31-11 as shown in the macro 31. The redundant block 31-11 has the same function as the normal blocks 31-1 to 31-10 and substitutes for one of the normal blocks 31-1 to 31-10 when it malfunctions. The fuse 35 has information that specifies the normal block replaced by the redundant blocks possessed by the macros 31 to 34 and is used in common for the macros 31 to 34. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
