PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To buffer an impact incident to a stoppage of motion of a capping means. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector for ejecting liquid drops toward a target comprises a liquid ejection head having a nozzle ejecting a liquid drop in the nozzle forming face, a capping means having a part for wiping liquid adhering to a cap part sealing the nozzle and the nozzle forming face of the liquid ejection head, a bracket secured to the liquid ejector and holding the capping means slidably, and a part for buffering an impact incident to stoppage of sliding of the capping means against the bracket.
