<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which improves efficiency of print work. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a CPU 101 having a function being a control means for switching between a double print mode and a single print mode, a function being a bias adjustment means for adjusting a developing bias, and a function being a toner replenishment quantity adjustment means for adjusting the toner replenishment quantity of a toner replenishing device 5, and the CPU 101 adjusts the developing bias and/or the toner replenishment quantity in consideration of the fact that the surface potential of a photosensitive belt 21 having an electrostatic latent image formed is changed when detected by a potential sensor 2 and when working in a color developing device 4. When an execution instruction for toner density control is issued during execution of print processing, the CPU 101 adopts the single print mode and forms a toner reference pattern in an idle area on the photosensitive belt 21, which is generated by adoption of the single print mode, and uses the toner reference pattern to execute the toner density control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
