PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new dye composition for dyeing keratin fibers, especially the human hair, having cleanness and nontoxicity, and not damaging characteristics of the keratin fibers. SOLUTION: The dye composition is obtained by mixing at least one aldehyde precursor, an enzyme capable of forming an aldehyde from the aldehyde precursor, and at least one heterocyclic aromatic hydrazone into a suitable dyeing medium. The composition is used in dyeing the keratin fibers, especially the human keratin fibers, such as the hair. A method for dyeing the keratin fiber using the composition and a dye "kit" containing the composition are provided in this specification, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
