Guidance system for a capsule-endoscope comprises an element with an elongated flexible component that can be guided to a target within a body cavity. The endoscope has a distal part that can be controlled from the proximal part via the elongated flexible component. The distal end has a support element for holding the capsule endoscope with the said support element being capable of being released and connected via the proximal manipulation element. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (a) a support device for holding a capsule endoscope; (b) and a capsule endoscope with a closed bottom and a gripping hole for insertion of a gripping element.
