PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modified reductase having excellent heat stability in order to shorten a reaction time and improve reaction efficiency.

SOLUTION: The enzyme has the same amino acid sequence as that of a specific amino acid sequence derived from the genus Penicillium and ability for reducing a substrate. The polynucleotide has a base sequence encoding the amino acid sequence of the enzyme. The vector contains the polynucleotide. The transformant has the polynucleotide or the vector.
