PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new drabness inhibitor, and to provide an external preparation for improving the skin. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the new drabness inhibitor for inhibiting the skin drabness induced by horny layer changes, melamine pigment increase or blood flow rate decrease caused by external factors such as UV light and dryness or internal factors such as aging, and to the application of the drabness inhibitor to external preparations for the skin. In more details, three kinds of useful actions comprising an action on significantly inhibiting the production of melamine pigment, a fibroblast proliferation-promoting action and a blood flow-promoting action are integrally utilized to provide the new and safe drabness inhibitor, and further to provide the external preparation which is used for the skin and containing the drabness inhibitor.
