A suction cleaner comprising a suction unit (12) including a source of suction and separator/collector means for separating and collecting dirt from flow of air induced by said source of suction, and a flexible suction hose (22) for attachment of a cleaning tool and/or wand, wherein said suction unit is provided with storage means (21) for said flexible suction hose (22) including a rotatable hose storage member (21) from which said hose can be deployed for use, storage means (59), and means (58) powered by energy stored in said energy storage means (59), operable to rotate said hose storage member (21) to cause said hose (22) to be stored thereon.
