<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the distance between a light diffusion plate and a lamp constant, and to prevent contact of the light diffusion plate to a liquid crystal panel due to flexure thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight structure of this liquid crystal display device is provided with lamps 3, a reflecting plate 5 disposed behind the lamps, and the light diffusion plate 2 disposed in front of the reflecting plate. A spacer 1 formed of a transparent material of a structure integrated with the light diffusion plate by being stuck by an adhesive is mounted to the diffusion plate 2, and the spacer is fixed to the reflecting plate at a fixing part 11. A spacer having an integral structure formed integrally with the light diffusion plate may be mounted instead of the stuck spacer having the integrated structure. The spacer comprises a sticking part 10 connected to the light diffusion plate, the fixing part 11 fixed to the reflecting plate, and a body part for connecting the sticking part to the fixing part, and the sticking part has a flange-shaped body having a cross section larger than that of the body part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
