PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flocculation method in excretion treatment for performing stable treatment using a flocculant for manufacturing a compost of good quality without exerting adverse effect on ecological system, a flocculation equipment therefor and a composting system equipped therewith. SOLUTION: The composting system comprises a nitrification and denitrification tank 6 for applying biological nitrification and denitrification to wastewater containing excretion and septic tank sludge, a first solid-liquid separator 7 for performing the solid-liquid separation of wastewater after nitrification and denitrification, a flocculation apparatus 8 for flocculating the treated water separated in the solid-liquid separation tank under an acidic-neutral condition of pH 5-7.5 by adding a polymer flocculant containing silica and iron components, a second solid-liquid separator for performing the solid-liquid separation of flocculation wastewater and composting equipment 13 for dehydrating the excess sludge 22 and flocculated sludge 23 separated by the first and second solid-liquid separators 9 to perform the aerobic fermentation of the sludge. This method is characterized in that a compost containing phosphorus is manufactured from wastewater containing excretion and septic tank sludge. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
