PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of excluding a waste of duplicate reading of an original in the case of broadcasting the original with a cover page attached thereto. SOLUTION: A scanner reads the original and stores the read data in a storage section as first image data. On the other hand, cover pages of a plurality of kinds are also stored in the storage section in cross-reference with information on a transmission destination (facsimile number of transmission destination or the like). Then the first image data denoting an original and the second image data representing the cover pages are read from the storage section (steps S45, S46). The first and second image data that are read are respectively transmitted to the transmission destination stored in cross-reference with the second image data (step S48). That is, the image data of the cover pages and the image data of the original read by the scanner at once and stored are sequentially transmitted to each transmission destination.
