<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a catalyst for removal of at least one odor component selected from sulfides, ammonia, amines, aldehydes, alcohols, esters, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons and fatty acids from gas containing the odor components. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst contains water-insoluble vanadyl sulfate (β-VOSO<SB>4</SB>) and further contains at least one oxide containing an element selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium, niobium, molybdenum, tungsten and chromium and at least one sulfate containing an element selected from the group consisting of the alkaline earth metals and lead. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
