PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding portable terminal unit, for which the displaying direction of incoming call information etc., can be changed easily or the visual confirmation of the direction can be easily inhibited and from which whether the incoming call information etc., is in a visually confirmable state can be discriminated in an instant with enlarged display area. SOLUTION: A terminal 1 has a body 2, cover 3, hinge 4, main display section 6, rotating body 20, sub-display section 21, opening/closing detection switch, a sub-position detecting switch, and control section. The hinge 4 connects the cover 3 to the body 2 in an openable/closeable state. The display section 6 is arranged on the internal surface 2c of the body 2 and the rotating body 20 is rotatably supported by the cover 3. The section 21 is arranged on one surface 20c of the rotating body 20. The sub-display section 21 is set in an inward direction, in which the section 21 is directed in the same direction as that of the section 6 and an outward direction, in which the section 21 is directed in the opposite direction. The control section sets the sections 6 and 21 in a prescribed display mode, according to the opening/closing information of the cover 3 from the opening/closing detection switch and the positional information of the section 21 from the sub-position detection switch.
