<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal and image transmitting method by which a sender can transmit his/her desired facial expression to the opposite communication party regardless of the sender's health condition and psychological state. <P>SOLUTION: Pictures with various facial expressions are prepared in advance and stored in a picture storing part 3 so that the sender 100 can optionally select a picture, in addition to a general function for encoding and transmitting a picture of the sender obtained by photographing the sender with a camera 1. When the sender 100 can send his/her present facial expression as it is to the opposite communication party, the sender sends the opposite communication party a transmission picture 100A obtained by photographing the sender with the camera 1.
