<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice response system realizing voice interaction which makes a user feel an affinity. <P>SOLUTION: The voice response system is applicable to, for example, a car navigation device and a variety of information terminals and analyzes characteristics of a user's speech according to the user's speech and provides a voice response on which the analysis results are reflected. A speech recognition part of the voice response system recognizes speech contents from a user's voice input and outputs the recognition result. According to the recognition result, an interaction control processing part controls progress of interaction with the user according to, for example, a prepared interaction scenario etc. to determine contents of a response to the user. Further, a speech characteristic analysis part analyzes speech characteristics of the user according to the recognition result and generates speech characteristic information. Then a voice response generation part generates a response voice to the user according to the response contents and speech characteristic information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
