PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member which has a durability to endure long-time slide and has elasticity of an elastic body kept satisfactory and to provide an image fixing device using the sliding member. SOLUTION: The sliding member has the elastic body attached to the rear side of a porous slide sheet, and the porous slide sheet is formed by laminating at least two stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene films in the width direction or mutually fusing polytetrafluoroethylene particles, and the image fixing device uses the sliding member.
