PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which automatically sets to a silent mode or a radio wave emission stop mode while an event is in progress, without the user being aware of it. SOLUTION: The portable terminal comprises a communication unit 11 for acquiring electronic ticket information listing utilization information, such as date and time, over a communication network; a clock 17; a silent mode setting function 121 for making a reservation to set it to at least a silent mode setting state in a specified time segment, determined based on the electronic ticket information. It compares the present time taken by the clock 17 with the specified time segment and, if the present time matches with the specified time segment, sets the time segment to the silent mode.
