An insulating building brick with a high insulation factor has a hollow format with rows of cells (1) aligned with the wall. Each row is separated from the adjacent rows by spaces linked by connecting bridges (4) to form air spaces (3). The connecting bridges are offset from the cell walls to increase the thermal path. The thickness of the connecting bridges decreases from the outside of the wall to the inside. The insulating insert material includes arrays of holes. For added strength the connecting bridges can be doubled.
