LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT AND RETARDATION FILM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element of a vertical alignment mode having a wide visual field angle by using one sheet of retardation film and to provide a retardation film one sheet of which can realize the wide visual field angle of a vertical alignment mode.

SOLUTION: The wide visual field angle of the liquid crystal display element having a structure wherein the major axis of a liquid crystal molecule to which no voltage is applied is aligned in the direction nearly vertical to a panel surface is realized by disposing one sheet of retardation film having a specific retardation wavelength dispersion between a liquid crystal cell and a polarizing film.
