<p>A control valve of the three port, two position variety consists of a housing 10, within which is fitted a sliding sleeve 11. Three fluid conduits or ports 12, 14 and 16 are located within the housing, the first being an inlet, the second being to a reservoir, while the third conduit 16 is connected to an actuator. The sleeve 11 mounted within the valve chamber moves under the influence of a magnetic flux generated by an electrical coil 19, and can be in contact with either of two spaced apart valve seats 23 and 22, allowing the fluid to flow either to the reservoir from the actuator, or from the inlet to the actuator, depending on the position of the sleeve. In a different embodiment, the inlet and reservoir connections can be reversed.</p> |
