PURPOSE: A plastic sheet bag with a tightening string and a string receiving method are provided to enable simple and effective storage of the string used to tighten the bag made of a plastic sheet. CONSTITUTION: In a tightening string(8) provided at a bag(1), which is made of two plastic sheets and is adapted to store an object in an air-tight state, ends(8a) of the tightening string, taking the form of a loop, are fitted in holding holes respectively drilled through the lower one-side corners of the two sheets forming the bag. As the string is tightened, the bag is sealed. In the tightened state, in order to enable stable fixation of the string, the bag is laterally formed of a recess(9) for fixedly receiving part of the string therein.
