METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROXYAPATITE PARTICLES

PURPOSE: A method for producing hydroxyapatite particles for use as carrier of antibacterial materials such as silver ion and copper ion is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) preparing calcium solution by dissolving calcium salts in water, (b) preparing phosphates solution by dissolving phosphates in water, (c) mixing the calcium solution and phosphate solution, (d) freeze-drying sediments obtained at the step (c) at a temperature in the range of -100 to 40°C and at a pressure in the range of 30 to 50 mmTorr, thereby obtaining hydroxyapatite, and (e) dispersing freeze-dried hydroxyapatite into 0.1M Ag(No3) solution, wherein the calcium salt is preferably Ca(NO3)2·4H2O, and the phosphate is preferably (NH4)2HPO4.
