PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work tool which facilitates an inserting work, even when inserting a cylindrical spring pin to a through-hole formed in a thin shaft by press fitting. SOLUTION: This work tool is used for inserting a cylindrical pin to a radially extending hole formed in a shaft. This tool has a pair of pinching pieces 4 and 5 for pinching the shaft in a pressed state. In each pinching piece, a circular retaining part 42 or 52 for retaining the outer surface of the shaft in a prescribed position is provided on a pinching face 41 or 51 to make contact with the shaft, respectively, and a shaft pin 8 for inserting the cylindrical pin is protrusively provided on the retaining part formed on one pinching surface of the pinching pieces.
